Founded in 1991 in Cocoa Florida, Kel-Tec began manufacturing semi-automatic pistols, rifles, and shotguns since 1995. Kel-Tec is firmly committed to the development or original, unique, and high-performance rifles and handguns for concealed carry by law enforcement personnel and qualified citizens. Kel-Tec pistols include the PF-9 9mm Luger pistol, P-11 9mm pistol, the P-32 32 ACP pistol, the P-3AT .380 ACP pistol, the P-4 .40 S&W pistol. Kel-Tec also manufactures the SUB-2000, both semi-automatic pistol caliber carbines that fold for storage. Kel-Tec also a series of 5.56mm rifles called the SU-16 series.
One of the most popular Kel-Tec firearms is the Kel-Tec PF-9. This Kel-Tec pistol pacts a lot of punch into a very compact size. At just over 5.5 inches long and 12 ounces the Kel-Tec 9 is a double action only weapon designed to for concealed carry civilian use or as a backup gun for law enforcement personnel. According to Kel-Tec, it is the lightest and flattest 9mm pistol in mass production. For those looking for a slightly larger Kel-Tec model that is still suited for concealed carry, the Kel-Tec P-11 offers a nice option, weighing it at 14 oz while unloaded.
In 2007 Kel-Tec introduced the RFB (Rifle, Forward-ejection, Bullpup), a series of high-efficiency gas-operated, semi-automatic rifles. The series also employs a titling breech block locking mechanism and loads a 7.62x51 NATO cartridge. The RFC family consists of a series of Bullpup rifles with 18", 24", and 32" barrel lengths, and also uses a tube placed over the barrel that ejects spent casings forward over the hand guard of the rifle.
